Sofia Tolar

As Human Resources Manager, Sofia Tolar is a big believer in the power that comes from embracing change. She shares LBA Hospitality’s beliefs in fostering a culture of teamwork and delivering great service without compromise, and she strives to support all LBA associates with their professional development and career aspirations.

She began her professional career in Venezuela working in purchasing and logistics for Caterpillar, and her hospitality career launched with LBA in 2009, when she was hired as a Guest Services Manager. Prior to taking on the role of HR Manager, Sofia served as general manager for two Panama City, Florida, properties in the LBA portfolio.

Sofia uses her extensive hospitality experience to ensure that all properties and their respective leadership teams have the necessary tools and support to hire, manage and—most importantly—develop their associates.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Carabobo, Venezuela, where her undergraduate thesis was published and is available for research and study in the University’s library. When she worked as a GM, Sofia was presented with the LBA HR Hero Award for two years running; her thoughtful efforts and far-reaching expertise help make LBA a truly wonderful place to work.

On the weekends, Sofia enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. When she isn’t cheering on her sons at the baseball field, she often can be found boating, bass fishing or hanging out on the water.
