Deb Matthews

Growing up in a family of eight, Deb was taught to always offer a helping hand to others and that hard work and dedication lead to success. As Regional Director of Operations, these early life lessons fuel her passion for mentoring and encouraging her associates to pursue personal and professional growth, striving to deliver the best possible guest experience.

Deb began her career in hospitality in 1992 overseeing the Housekeeping Department and quickly grew to love the industry. Building on her newfound passion, she pursued every opportunity to grow and develop, working her way up through management to eventually become an Area Manager. She joined the LBA team in 2007 as a General Manager, assisting in opening several new properties before being promoted to Area Manager and then Regional Director of Operations. Deb’s compassionate leadership and belief in giving back earned her three consecutive LBA CARES Awards. She was also awarded Region of the Year in 2013 and supported several properties to achieve the Hotel of the Year Award and the Marriott Platinum Award.

In her current role, Deb provides operational support to several Hilton, Marriott and IHG properties in the LBA portfolio. Her responsibilities include driving top-line revenue sales, monitoring expenses and house profit and assisting with community involvement through the LBA CARES program. An essential part of her job is to also provide associate development and team building opportunities.

A devoted football fan, Deb loves cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. She also enjoys fishing and time spent relaxing with family and friends.
