As a child, Deanna Smith dreamed of growing up to be an astronaut, but in school she gravitated more toward the arts than math and science. Today, she is happy to have landed among the stars as LBA Hospitality’s Social Media and Marketing Coordinator. Deanna exemplifies LBA’s core values of working hard and putting forth her best effort, and she has also learned to take risks, admit her mistakes and not take herself too seriously.
Deanna joined LBA in 2021 during the 3H Group alliance, where she is leveraging her marketing expertise handling social media profiles for hotel properties and creating collateral for LBA’s events, campaigns, internal communication efforts and more. Deanna strives to create simple, attractive designs that effectively communicate with the viewer and invite them to interact with the product or idea being presented.
Deanna brings four years of dedicated social media experience to her new role at LBA and has worked in marketing since her first internship-turned-job coordinating print collateral for nonprofits in 2016. Most recently, she served as brand marketing specialist for a Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Christian media group, and in 2019, she spearheaded the social media promotion team for Jfest, an annual music festival in Chattanooga. Deanna holds a bachelor of arts degree in communication and media studies from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee.
A Chattanooga native, Deanna enjoys trying out new restaurants, playing board games, exploring new cities, revisiting favorite episodes of Parks and Recreation and scoping out the latest design schemes—both the fashions and the graphic layouts—in Vogue and other magazines. On the weekends, she looks forward to enjoying breakfast dates with her husband and browsing thrift stores.
