The Check-In with LBA | Emma Moore

Emma Moore’s growth at LBA Hospitality is a great example of what can happen when talented people are given opportunities to learn, stretch, and lead. Since joining the company as Digital Marketing Manager, Emma has advanced to Regional Director of Digital Marketing, where she now guides digital strategy for 22 hotels across the portfolio.  Through continued professional development, industry involvement, and leadership opportunities at LBA, Emma has built an impressive level of expertise that was recently recognized by Hotel Management Magazine, which named Emma one of its Top 30 Under 30.
In this edition of The Check-In with LBA, Emma shares what the recognition means to her, how LBA has supported her growth, and why continued investment in digital expertise benefits hotels and owners.

Q: You were recently selected by Hotel Management Magazine as one of its Top 30 Under 30 honorees. What does that recognition mean to you?

EMMA: It’s incredibly meaningful to me. During my time in hospitality and digital marketing, I’ve had the opportunity to grow into a leadership position, take on new responsibilities, and work alongside some exceptionally talented people.
For me, the recognition is a reminder of how much can happen when you’re willing to keep learning, take opportunities, and push yourself outside of your comfort zone.

Q: Your role has grown significantly since you joined LBA as its first Digital Marketing Manager. How do you now help hotels connect their business goals with the right digital strategies, and what does that support mean for owners?

EMMA: My role starts with understanding what each hotel is trying to accomplish and determining which digital strategies can best support those goals. I manage investments across  digital platforms, develop annual digital marketing budgets, partner with hotel teams on revenue strategy and openings, and serve as a subject matter expert across Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt digital systems.
There is a tremendous amount happening behind the scenes to maintain a hotel’s online presence and digital performance. Having a dedicated digital team gives our owners confidence that those details are being consistently managed by specialists who understand how they affect visibility, revenue, and market share.

Q: From earning your CHDM (Certified Hospitality Digital Marketer) certification to serving on the Rising Leaders Council with HSMAI (Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International), how have those experiences and LBA’s investment in your development shaped you as a leader?

EMMA: LBA took a chance on me when I joined the company, and has continued to invest in my development through education, certifications, industry involvement and new responsiblities.
The Rising Leaders Council reinforced the value of collaboration and learning from others, while also challenging me to think beyond my day-to-day role and continue growing as a leader. I really do consider myself a testament to the growth opportunities available at LBA.

Q: What advice would you give to other emerging hospitality professionals who want to grow into leadership roles?

EMMA: Stay curious and be willing to raise your hand for opportunities, even when you don’t feel completely ready. Some of the biggest steps in my career have come from taking on challenges that pushed me outside of my comfort zone and being willing to learn along the way.
I’d also encourage people to build relationships and learn from those around them. You don’t have to have all the answers to be a strong leader; being dependable, willing to learn, and someone others can count on will take you a long way.
