As part of our new “The Check-In” series, we’re highlighting insights and reflections from our executive team. To kick things off, we sat down with Beau to hear his thoughts on 2024’s biggest moments, what’s ahead in 2025, and how he recharges during the holidays.
What is one accomplishment from 2024 that you’re especially proud of at LBA?
BEAU: Growth—and I don’t just mean the number of properties, but the growth of our people. It has been so rewarding to see people take on expanded roles and even create new roles for themselves this year. We’ve also focused on the basics of hospitality, and I think that’s been reflected in our guest scores and the recognition we’ve received from the brands.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in 2025?
BEAU: The owners we work with have some exciting projects in the works. While our bread and butter has always been in select-service hotels, we’ve seen great success as we’ve moved into the lifestyle space. I expect to see more opportunities here as we move forward.
Q: How do you envision LBA continuing to stand out in hospitality next year?
BEAU: I see us standing out in three key ways:
- Delivering award-winning service to our guests.
- Continuing to provide a work environment that makes us the first choice for anyone working in hospitality.
- Maximizing returns for the owners who have entrusted us to manage their hotels.
Each of our stakeholders has a choice, and it’s important that we earn that choice from all of them.
Q: How do you unwind during the busy holiday season?
BEAU: I usually shut down my work schedule a day or two before Christmas. This year will be especially exciting as our granddaughter celebrates her first Christmas. My wife and I host all of the family for Christmas, and I do a lot of the cooking – while it’s not always relaxing, I do enjoy it! Once everyone departs that afternoon, I can finally unwind. I also typically take vacation the week between Christmas and New Year’s to recharge, so I can hit the ground running after the first.
