General Manager Meredith Klindtworth Honored with 2024 Marriott Mustang Award
St. Augustine, FL (July 2024) — LBA Hospitality is proud to announce that Meredith Klindtworth, General Manager of the Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown, has been awarded the 2024 Marriott Mustang Award, one of the highest honors presented by Marriott International to recognize outstanding leadership and innovation.
The Mustang Award is reserved for General Managers who demonstrate exceptional performance in the face of challenges, introduce creative strategies that drive results, and lead their teams with purpose and passion. Since joining the Renaissance St. Augustine in March 2024, Meredith has done exactly that—delivering significant gains in both financial performance and guest satisfaction.
Under her leadership, the hotel has achieved:
- Substantial year-over-year increases in both revenue and profitability
- Record-setting associate bonuses for Q1
- Top-tier guest satisfaction scores, including #1 in Cleanliness and #1 in Maintenance & Upkeep among all Renaissance hotels
- Recognition as a Top 10 performer on Marriott’s Intent to Recommend list for Premium & Luxury hotels
- A strong and consistent online review score of 4.6 out of 5
Meredith also played a key role in the success of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. Castillo Craft Bar + Kitchen achieved top rankings on TripAdvisor and was recognized with both Traveler’s Choice and Diner’s Choice awards, while the on-property Starbucks outperformed its previous year’s results.
Her people-first leadership style is reflected in a vibrant workplace culture. Meredith introduced monthly associate recognition, themed team events, and department-led appreciation weeks—fostering high morale and cross-department collaboration. She also champions the future of the industry, offering internship opportunities through a partnership with Flagler College, and sharing her insight with hospitality students at the University of Florida, her alma mater.
