REGIONAL ENGINEERING MANAGER

As Regional Engineering Manager for LBA, Akpan (AK) Forbes oversees and manages engineering projects within his designated area. He provides technical support, ensures regulatory compliance, and delivers guidance and training to engineers and staff.

AK’s career spans over 15 years in the hotel industry, including eight years with LBA. His professional path began in food and beverage before expanding into roles including housekeeping assistant, front desk agent, laundry assistant, and sales support across Hilton brands. This diverse background allowed him to develop a deep understanding of hotel operations, ultimately excelling in engineering. Recognized for his exceptional skill, AK became LBA’s youngest Regional Engineering Manager.

Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, AK earned certifications including CPO, OSHA 10, and EPA Universal. He attended Hinds Community College in Jackson, where he began building the foundation for his technical expertise.

Outside of work, AK enjoys watching football and is a devoted New England Patriots fan. He also spends time fishing, playing chess, and cherishing moments with his three grandsons. A proud father of six, including three children who serve in the Air Force, AK credits his grandmother (who lived to the age of 104!) as his greatest role model. Guided by her lessons on resilience and kindness, he inspires excellence in his team with the belief that “Work hard and you can accomplish anything.”
